About the Shaykha
After embracing Islam as a teenager, she devoted more than 25 years to knowledge, earning a Master's in Fiqh, a Bachelor’s degree in Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, and a second Bachelor's in Arabic, besides having studied numerous traditional texts from specialised scholars for decades.
She also memorized the Qur'an and received an Ijazah in its correct recitation according to Hafs An Asim.
She is from the first female scholars to be recognised by the Australian National Imams Council, and in 2021 played a pivotal role in securing the recognition of qualified women as official members.
Beloved and renowned in her community in Sydney, Australia, for her relatable approach, she understands the challenges Muslim women face while carrying the unending responsibilities of home and family.
